Accessibility Statement

1) Introduction

We are pleased that you are visiting our website and thank you for your interest.

Below you will find information on the accessible use of our online offering.

In particular, we inform you

  • what content and functions you can expect on this website,
  • how you can use this content and these functions,
  • which options for barrier-free use are available to you, and
  • which authority is responsible for monitoring accessibility on this website.

2) Content and functions of this website

This website is an online shop for the sale of goods.

“Goods” refers to tangible items.

You can view products, add them to an electronic shopping cart, and then place a binding order and make payment.

The site has a header menu and a footer menu.

The header menu lists the products we sell, sorted by category; each product can be accessed from there.

Each product has its own detail page describing its key features, scope of delivery and total price; from there it can be added to the cart.

Once you have placed at least one item in the cart, you can access the cart via the header menu to start and complete the checkout process.

The footer menu contains links to our legal notice (imprint) with our contact information, legal information about our online offering, shipping and payment options, and links to other helpful service pages.

3) How to use the content and functions

3.1 Virtual buttons

You can operate this website via virtual buttons.

3.2 Home, category and detail pages

The home page shows a selection of products in the main area. Clicking a product takes you to the product detail page.

You can navigate through the product categories in the header menu. After selecting a category, you land on an overview page displaying all products in that category. Clicking a product there again takes you to its detail page.

Product detail pages contain all key information about the product and its total price, a quantity selector (if applicable) and an “Add to cart” button. If a quantity selector is present, you can specify the desired quantity.

3.3 Electronic shopping cart

Clicking the cart button adds the product (in the chosen quantity, if applicable) to the cart.

You can open the cart at any time via the header menu. There you can review the items, remove products or change the quantity.

3.4 Electronic checkout process

After reviewing the cart you can start the checkout via the corresponding buttons.

First you will be asked to enter your contact details (at least name, e-mail address and shipping/billing address) in an input form.

Next you can choose between the available shipping or service options.

Finally you select a payment method, enter the necessary payment data and complete the order.

The order becomes binding only when you click the button on the final checkout page labelled “Buy”, “Buy now”, “Place binding order” or a similar clear wording.

Before clicking this button you can return to previous steps via your browser’s “Back” button or cancel the checkout at any time.

If you choose an online payment method, you will be redirected to the payment provider’s system after the final checkout page.

4) Legal accessibility requirements

This website is considered an online shop (an “information society service”) with electronic ordering and payment functionality.

It is therefore subject to specific legal accessibility requirements.

In general, this website must provide functions and processes geared to the needs of people with disabilities and enable operation with assistive technologies.

The shop functions must be

  • perceivable,
  • operable,
  • understandable, and
  • robust.

Perceivable means that the information and components of the shop are presented in a way that all users can easily perceive.

Operable means that people with limited mobility or cognitive impairments can use the functions.

Understandable means that the information and functions are logically structured, easy to recognise and unambiguous.

Robust means that the content and functions can be used reliably, including with assistive technologies.

If products subject to their own accessibility requirements are offered for sale, accessibility information for such products must be provided where available.

5) Available accessibility features

This website meets accessibility requirements through the following measures:

  • Alt text for images: All images include alternative text so screen readers can describe them.
  • Adjustable font size: Font size can be increased or decreased for better legibility.
  • Adjustable colour contrast: Page colour contrast can be raised or lowered.
  • Mouse and keyboard operation: All functions work via mouse and keyboard; arrow/tab keys can control the cursor.
  • CSS separation: Layout, colour and design are separated from the content via CSS, allowing assistive technologies to apply their own styles.
  • Sufficient letter spacing for readability.
  • Screen-reader compatibility with all common screen readers.
  • Responsive design: Content and functions automatically adjust to any screen size.
  • Scalability: Elements remain high-resolution when zoomed.
  • High colour contrast preset for optimum visibility.
  • Text hints for empty required fields: When mandatory fields are left empty, a text message explains which information is missing.
