Storm Kit by your GEAR - to keep your awning safely on the ground!
Every camper and caravan enthusiast knows it when the pitch is in an unprotected and shallow spot and a storm is expected. The awning could be ripped from its moorings, parts of the awning or sun canopy could fly around and eventually cause damage. A storm kit helps here and saves material and people from damage!
The Storm Kit consists of a robust 13 metre long strap made of nylon fabric, two very stable steel tent pegs with a length of 38 cm, a tension spring and 2 padded corner protectors made of polyester. First, the two corner protectors are threaded onto the strap and the two-part storm strap is mounted. This is now placed over the front edge of the awning so that the positions of the ground anchors can be determined and these can be driven in there. The storm strap is now hooked onto the peg hooks, using the tension spring between the storm strap and peg on one side. The tension spring allows a small amount of slack to absorb and compensate for tearing and pulling forces. Before the webbing is brought to tension, the protectors are placed in the correct position, directly on the outer roof poles.
The set is suitable for all caravan awnings, sun canopies and awnings with posts that do not exceed a maximum width of 6.5 metres. With our storm band set you are on the safe side and can enjoy your holiday relaxed.
