The ISO Duo Max self-inflating thermal mat from your GEAR offers high insulation performance, comfortable sleeping comfort – and all that for 2 people.

The sleeping mat is a kind of double air mattress with a foam core that inflates by itself. As soon as the mat is unrolled and the two high-performance valves are opened, the open-cell PU core fills with air and the mat is ready to use. No tedious pumping required!

The construction of this mobile mattress consists of 4 parts: the foam core, the water- and air-tight shell around the core, the outer cover and the valves.

The outer cover of the mattress is made of a high-quality soft-touch material. This material is non-slip, water-repellent and very pleasant on the skin. The foam core is made of an open-cell polyurethane foam that expands quickly as air flows in, but also allows the air to escape quickly again when rolling up the camping mat. To ensure the sleeping mat is airtight and remains so, the core is enclosed in a shell made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Foam core, TPU shell and outer cover are fully bonded together over the entire surface. At the corners of the mattress there are 2 high-performance valves made of ABS plastic, which control inflation and deflation of the mattress. The desired firmness can be adjusted by blowing additional air in by mouth.

Thanks to the high-quality foam and a mat thickness of 7 cm, this sleeping mat provides very high insulation against cold from the ground. The sleeping mat has an R-value of 6, allowing year-round use – even on cold nights down to -22°C. A high R-value also stands for comfortable sleeping comfort.

The sleeping surface of the ISO Duo Max is 198 cm long and 130 cm wide, making it perfect for taller people as well. The sleeping mat is supplied with two compression straps and a practical drawstring carry bag.

The ISO Mat Duo Max is ideal as a bed when camping in a tent, for festivals, in the garden, as a beach mat, as a base for picnics or at home as a guest bed.

First use and repacking

During first use, it is normal for the foam to absorb air more slowly. To speed up the initial expansion of the foam, you can blow a little air in by mouth. Please do not use an air pump, as the pressure could damage the mat. Once the foam has become accustomed to its open form, the self-inflating process will become noticeably and audibly faster. After use, fully open the valves, fold the mat once lengthwise in the middle and kneel at the end without valves. Roll up the mat and keep pulling it back towards your knees. Make sure you roll the sleeping mat tightly and press the air out. Close the valves, secure the rolled mat with the two packing straps and store the mat in the stuff sack.
