ISO Mat - a self-inflating sleeping mat with 7 cm thickness

The ISO 700 self-inflating thermal mat from your GEAR offers high insulation performance and comfortable cushioning.

This sleeping mat is a type of air mattress with a foam core that inflates by itself. As soon as the mat is unrolled and the two high-performance valves are opened, the open-cell PU core fills with air and the mat is ready to use. No tedious pumping required!

The construction of this portable mattress consists of 4 parts: the foam core, the waterproof and airtight shell around the core, the outer cover, and the valves.

The outer cover of the mattress is made from a premium soft-touch material. This material is anti-slip, water-repellent, and very pleasant on the skin. The foam core is made of open-cell polyurethane foam, which expands quickly as air flows in, but also lets the air escape quickly again when you roll up the camping mat. To ensure the sleeping mat is and remains airtight, the core is enclosed by a shell made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Foam core, TPU shell, and outer cover are bonded together across the entire surface. Two high-performance valves made of ABS plastic are located at the corners of the mattress and control inflation and deflation. The desired firmness can be adjusted by blowing in additional air by mouth.

Thanks to the high-quality foam and a mat thickness of 7 cm, this sleeping mat offers very high insulation against cold coming up from the ground. The sleeping mat has an R-value of 6, allowing year-round use, even on cold nights down to -22°C. A high R-value also indicates excellent sleeping comfort.

The sleeping surface of the ISO 700 is 200 cm long and 63 cm wide, making it perfect for taller users as well. The sleeping mat is supplied with two compression straps and a practical drawstring carry bag.

The ISO Mat 700 is ideal as a bed for camping in a tent, for festivals, in the garden, as a beach mat, as a pad for picnics, or at home as a guest bed.

First use and repacking

During first use, it is normal for the foam to absorb air more slowly. To speed up the initial expansion of the foam, you can blow a little air in by mouth. Please do not use an air pump, as the pressure could damage the mat. Once the foam has adapted to its open form, the self-inflating process becomes audibly and visibly faster. After use, fully open the valves and kneel at the end without valves. Roll up the mat, repeatedly pulling the mat back towards your knees as you go. Make sure to roll the sleeping mat tightly and press out the air. Close the valves, secure the rolled mat using the two compression straps, and store the mat in the stuff sack.
