This plastic tent peg is ideal for camping on normal ground. This includes, above all, the ground you find on most tent and camping sites. Stable ground anchors are particularly important in strong winds and with high loads on the guy ropes. The tent peg made of solid galvanised steel meets this criterion and anchors your tent firmly to the ground. The curved top prevents the guy line from slipping off the tent peg.
To ensure that the tent peg has optimum hold in the ground, it should be hammered in at a 45° angle and completely into the ground. Note that the hook (eye) attached to the head of the tent peg points away from the tent, otherwise the tensioning line will find no or only very poor hold. The tent ropes should be used as long as possible when tensioning. A flat angle leads to better absorption of wind forces.
A camping hammer (rubber mallet) can be used to easily drive the peg into the ground even on harder soils. If resistance occurs when driving in the tent peg, usually caused by stones or roots, it is imperative to pull out the tent peg and re-position it. In such a case, hitting the tent peg harder with a hammer will not achieve the desired result, but will damage the pegs. When dismantling, it is advisable to use a peg puller to remove the ground pegs.
The T22 peg is made of ABS, an amorphous plastic with very good mechanical properties, and weighs only a few grams. The peg has a T - profile of 20 x 20 mm, a length of 220 mm and is supplied as a set of 50 pieces.
