Oxygen is a vital component for plants, just as it is for all other organisms! While the green parts of the plant produce oxygen through photosynthesis, the oxygen supply of the roots depends on the supply from the environment. Plants do not have an active transport mechanism for oxygen, they depend on diffusion. If this is missing, there can be a lack of oxygen in the plant tissue. This is called hypoxia. Watering the potting soil too much inhibits the transport of gas in the soil. This can cause the oxygen concentration in the plant tissue to drop so much that an optimal energy supply is no longer possible. This inevitably leads to the death of the plant. The rear construction of the vertical planter is double-walled. This second, outer layer of fabric is made of a waterproof, coated polyester and ensures that the masonry or fence is not exposed to permanent moisture.

The blue webbing straps reinforce the construction of the garden wall and also provide loops to hang the wall. Robust eyelets on the side and top edges can further secure this hanging garden to the wall or fence.

The planter is made from a polymer and is reusable. After the gardening season, the planter wall can simply be rinsed off, dried and stored folded up small in the tool shed. Don´t worry about rooting through the fabric - the so-called air cut prevents this!
