yourGEAR solar tarp SC-300x300 square solar cover 300 µm thick solar film pool heater

Product information "yourGEAR solar tarp SC-300x300 square solar cover 300 µm thick solar film pool heater"

yourGEAR Solar Tarpaulin SC-300x300 - rectangular solar cover - 300µ thick solar foil - solar powered pool heater

yourGEAR Solar Tarpaulin SC-300x300 - 300µ (my) solar foil for heating swimming pool and pool water by solar radiation.

A solar pool cover offers an easy way to heat the water in your home pool or swimming pool with the help of the sun. This economical way of heating water uses the heat of the sun. The solar energy heats the air enclosed in the nubs. The warm air in turn transfers its energy to the water and the water temperature rises.

Our pool liner can easily be cut to size with scissors.

yourGEAR is a brand from Germany.

Important note on handling

With a solar cover it is important that the nubs of the foil float in the water. This means that the solar cover is always placed on the water surface with the nubs facing downwards. It is also important that the solar cover floats and that there is as little water as possible on the solar cover. In order for the pool cover to float independently, it must always be slightly smaller than the water surface to be covered. This ensures that any water that accumulates on the sheeting gets back into the pool over the edge of the cover. If the liner is too large, the water cannot get back into the pool. The foil is pressed under water, the air in the nubs hardly warms up and the solar heating effect fails.

Technical data

Size of the tarpaulin: 300 x 300 cm

Thickness of the material: 300µ (300 my = 0.3 mm)

Size of the studs: Ø 10 mm x 4 mm

Number of studs: approx. 5600 per square metre

Material: polypropylene

The indicated size of the tarpaulin is the actual size. The size specification of the tarpaulin therefore does not refer to the size specifications of pools. Therefore, measure the water surface of your pool to determine the required size of the sheet.

Durability and life span of a solar tarp

A solar cover does not last forever, as it is constantly attacked by UV radiation, heat, chlorine and algae protection agents during use. A solar foil is therefore to be classified as a consumable material. The durability of the material increases with its thickness, but the thicker the material, the stiffer and more unwieldy the tarpaulin becomes. We have therefore decided on a thickness of 300 my and, from our point of view, have chosen the best ratio between purchase costs, manageability and durability.

It is important that the tarp is only used to heat the water. It is not designed as a permanent pool cover. For a permanent pool cover, you should use a cover made of polyester, as it is less sensitive. If the air temperature exceeds 35° Celsius, the solar cover should not be used any longer, as the air in the nubs heats up too much and the resulting thermal expansion damages the material and can cause the cover to warp in shape.

If the solar tarp is not used, fold it up dry and store the tarp in a place without sunlight.

If you observe the points listed, the solar tarpaulin will serve you well for the next 2 to 3 summers.

  • Blue solar cover with air chambers for heating pool and swimming pool water. Square solar pool cover is 300 x 300 cm and 300 microns thick (0.3 mm without air chambers)
  • Solar cover with 5600 air inclusions per 1 m² and a diameter of 1 cm per knob. The film heats the water, reduces cooling and reduces water evaporation by approx. 90%
  • The pool tarpaulin heats the water by 4 - 8°C. However, the tarpaulin must float freely with the air chambers pointing downwards. Too much water on the tarpaulin prevents efficient heating
  • Chlorine & UV resistant 4-in-1 solar film - water heating by day, insulation at night, protection against pollution, reduction of the need for chemical water care products by 40-60%.
  • Accessories for pool water care. Foil with air inclusions (burls) as solar heating for pools & swimming areas. Cutting to smaller sizes is possible. Material: Polypropylene
