The planters are made of a non-woven fabric that allows air and water to pass through. Perhaps unusual for a flower pot, but ideal and essential for plant growth!

Oxygen is a vital component for plants, just as it is for all other organisms! While the green parts of the plant produce oxygen through photosynthesis, the oxygen supply to the roots is dependent on the supply from the environment. Plants do not have an active transport mechanism for oxygen, they depend on diffusion. If this is lacking, there can be a lack of oxygen in the plant tissue. This is called hypoxia. Excessive watering of potting soil inhibits gas transport in the soil. This can cause the oxygen concentration in the plant tissue to drop so much that an optimal energy supply is no longer possible. This inevitably leads to the death of the plant. The yourGEAR Grow Bags solve this problem by using a breathable and water permeable material.

Advantages of water permeability: excess water drains away, waterlogging is prevented and the roots can breathe.

Thanks to the sturdy, yet flexible base, the planter will find a firm footing and support even on uneven ground. The planter is made of a polymer and is reusable. After the gardening season, the planter is simply rinsed out, dried and stored folded small in the tool shed. Don´t worry about rooting through the fabric - the so-called air cut prevents that! The growth of the root tips stops automatically as soon as the roots at the edge of the plant bag come into contact with oxygen.
