Important handling instructions

With a solar cover, it is important that the bubbles of the film float in the water. This means that the solar cover is always placed on the water surface with the bubbles facing down. Furthermore, it is important that the solar cover floats and as little water as possible remains on the solar cover. To ensure the pool cover floats on its own, it must always be slightly smaller than the water surface to be covered. This ensures that any water accumulated on the cover flows back into the pool over the edge of the cover. With a cover that is too large, the water cannot flow back into the pool. The cover is pushed underwater, the air in the bubbles barely heats up, and the solar heating effect fails.

The specified size of the cover is the actual size. The size specification of the cover does not refer to the pool size specifications. Therefore, measure the water surface of your pool to determine the required film size.

Durability and lifespan of a solar cover

A solar cover does not last forever, as it is constantly exposed to UV radiation, heat, chlorine, and algaecides during use. Therefore, a solar film should be considered as a consumable. With the thickness of the material, durability also increases, but the cover also becomes stiffer and less manageable with increasing material thickness. Therefore, we have chosen a thickness of 300 my, which we believe is the best ratio between acquisition cost, manageability, and lifespan.

It is important that the cover is used only to heat the water. It is not designed as a permanent pool cover. For permanent pool coverage, you should use a polyester cover, as it is more resistant. The solar cover should not be used at an air temperature above 35° Celsius, as the air in the bubbles heats up too much, and the associated thermal expansion can damage the material and deform the cover.

If the solar cover is not used, fold it dry and store it in a place without sunlight.
